We are seeking an experienced, dependable Accounting, Payroll & Compliance Manager to join our in-office team. This is not a clerical or data-entry role. The person in this position will work closely with ownership while independently managing recurring accounting, payroll, employee-benefit, DOT, insurance, and compliance responsibilities. Primary responsibilities Prepare weekly payroll for management review and approval; verify employee hours, payroll information, deductions, garnishments, and court-ordered withholding. Maintain accurate PTO, personnel, onboarding, benefit-enrollment, and payroll-deduction records. Coordinate new-hire onboarding, required pre-employment testing, and employee drug-testing documentation. Manage day-to-day accounts payable, including invoice entry, coding, documentation, vendor records, and due-date tracking. Reconcile bank and credit-card accounts promptly; research and resolve discrepancies and outstanding transactions. Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation for tax preparation, audits, job costing, and management reporting. Maintain DOT driver files; monitor CDL, medical-card, and related expiration dates; coordinate required drug and alcohol testing. Track recurring compliance requirements and follow up on missing or expiring documentation. Coordinate routine additions and removals of vehicles, equipment, and drivers with insurance providers; maintain current insurance documentation. What success looks like Own assigned processes from beginning to verified completion. Keep recurring responsibilities and deadlines organized and current. Review your work for accuracy, identify discrepancies, and follow through on unresolved items. Communicate clearly with management when an exception or decision needs attention. Handle employee and financial information with discretion and professionalism. Qualifications 3-5+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, or comparable office-management experience preferred. Strong bookkeeping and accounting fundamentals, including accounts payable and bank/credit-card reconciliations. Payroll-processing experience and strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple recurring responsibilities and deadlines independently. Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software. Construction accounting, job costing, DOT compliance, employee benefits, certified payroll, or construction-payroll experience is strongly preferred. Experience with Foundation Software, Payroll4Construction, QuickBooks, or similar software is a plus. Position details Full-time, Monday-Friday; in-office in the Robstown/Corpus Christi area.

$22-$30 per hour, based on relevant experience, demonstrated skills, and scope of responsibilities. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance are required.
