Payroll Supervisor -
Interim Location:
Milwaukee, WI Schedule:
Primarily onsite with one remote day per week
Hours:
Monday-Friday, approximately 8:00 AM-5:00
PM Pay:
$45.00-$55.00+ per hour, based on experience

Interim/Contract Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to lead payroll operations for a large, complex organization in Milwaukee. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for managing the payroll team while ensuring accurate payroll processing, regulatory compliance, payroll tax administration, audit readiness and strong internal controls. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience managing complex, multi-state payroll operations and have hands-on experience with UKG Pro/UltiPro. This individual should be comfortable both leading a payroll function and becoming directly involved in payroll processing, compliance, audits and issue resolution. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach and support the payroll team responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing. Oversee complex, multi-state payroll operations for a large employee population. Provide hands-on payroll processing and troubleshooting support utilizing UKG Pro/UltiPro. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll laws and tax requirements. Manage payroll tax processes, reporting and related compliance activities. Support and lead payroll audits, reconciliations, internal controls and audit-readiness initiatives. Review complex payroll transactions including bonuses, commissions, retroactive pay, garnishments and other special payments. Identify payroll discrepancies and lead resolution of complex payroll issues. Partner with HR, Finance, Accounting and other internal stakeholders. Manage relationships with payroll vendors, tax agencies and external partners. Support payroll system integrations, upgrades and process improvement initiatives. Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures and controls. Monitor regulatory changes and implement appropriate payroll process changes. Required Qualifications 5+ years of progressive payroll experience. Previous experience supervising a payroll team. Hands-on UKG Pro/UltiPro payroll processing experience. Experience owning complex, multi-state payroll operations. Strong knowledge of federal, state and local payroll tax regulations. Demonstrated payroll compliance experience. Payroll audit and internal controls experience. #HR/ADMIN9
