Job Description

We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to support a high-volume payroll operation serving a large healthcare organization. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career in payroll while contributing to accurate, timely pay processing across a multi-state workforce. The role offers the chance to work remotely within Eastern or Central time zones and collaborate with an established payroll team handling complex payroll activities.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and support biweekly payroll processing for a workforce of approximately 8,000 employees, including both salaried and hourly staff.
  • Review and complete payroll-related transactions such as garnishment setup, retroactive pay adjustments, new employee entries, and payment reissues.
  • Perform payroll tax calculations for employees across nearly all U.S. states in which the organization operates, ensuring data is accurate before submission to the external tax filing provider.
  • Export, analyze, and organize payroll data using advanced Excel skills to support reporting, validation, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with payroll team members to identify discrepancies, research payroll questions, and maintain consistent payroll accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with full-cycle payroll activities and provide support for additional payroll tasks as business needs require.
  • Help maintain employee payroll records and ensure updates are entered correctly and on time within payroll systems.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
