Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk/Office Assistant to join our team! This vital role combines payroll management with office support functions, ensuring smooth operations and accurate compensation processes. Duties Process payroll using systems such as CheckMark, 1099-ETC, and other supported payroll platforms, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Maintain employee records withing payroll systems, updating personal information, pay rates, benefits enrollment, and tax details. Reconcile payroll accounts and perform journal entries to ensure proper financial reporting in accounting software like MultiLedger or similar platforms. Assist with compliance by staying current on employment and labor law regulations; prepare reports related to payroll taxes and labor law adherence. Support office operations by managing correspondence, scheduling appointments, maintaining filing systems, and handling confidential information with discretion. Experience Proven experience in payroll management or office administration within a business setting Hands-on knowledge of payroll software such as CheckMark, 1099-ETC, or other supported payroll systems Strong understanding of employment & labor law as it relates to payroll processing and compliance requirements. Demonstrated proficiency in accounting software like MultiLedger or comparable financial tools. Experience handling confidential information with integrity and professionalism. Ability to perform account reconciliation, analyze financial data, and execute double-entry bookkeeping principles accurately. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
