Static LLC is seeking an experienced Construction Payroll & Prevailing Wage Specialist to join our growing team in Prescott, Arizona . This is a critical position responsible for managing payroll, certified payroll reporting, and prevailing wage compliance for commercial construction projects throughout multiple states. Job Summary As our Construction Payroll & Prevailing Wage Specialist, you will oversee the complete payroll process while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws. This role is responsible for weekly payroll processing, certified payroll reporting, California DIR compliance, Davis-Bacon requirements, multi-state prevailing wage administration, payroll tax reporting, employee benefits deductions, and maintaining accurate financial records. You will work closely with project managers, accounting, and field personnel to ensure payroll is processed accurately, employees are paid correctly, and all compliance requirements are met. Primary Responsibilities Process weekly payroll for multiple construction companies and divisions. Prepare and submit Certified Payroll Reports (CPR). Manage California DIR reporting and compliance requirements. Ensure compliance with Davis-Bacon and prevailing wage regulations across multiple states. Verify employee labor classifications, wage determinations, fringe benefits, and certified payroll accuracy. Process multi-state payroll taxes, deductions, garnishments, and benefit contributions. Maintain payroll records, journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and payroll account balances. Reconcile payroll information with accounting software and financial systems. Assist with month-end and year-end payroll reporting. Prepare payroll tax filings and labor cost reports for management. Maintain employee payroll records with strict confidentiality. Support HR with onboarding, employee status changes, benefit deductions, and payroll-related questions. Coordinate with project managers to ensure labor hours and job costing are accurate. Assist during government audits, prevailing wage reviews, and compliance investigations. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment and labor laws. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of construction payroll experience preferred.
Extensive knowledge of:
Certified Payroll Reporting California DIR Reporting Prevailing Wage Compliance Davis-Bacon Act Multi-State Payroll Administration Payroll Tax Regulations Experience processing payroll using systems such as: ADP Workday Paychex Kronos UltiPro Ceridian Foundation Viewpoint Vista or similar payroll software. Strong understanding of accounting principles, including: Journal Entries Account Reconciliations General Ledger Job Costing Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software preferred. Familiarity with HRIS systems and employee timekeeping software. Excellent Microsoft Excel skills. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict payroll deadlines. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
