Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Payroll Associate to join our vibrant Cafe & Bakery team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll processing, ensuring compliance with labor and tax laws, and maintaining accurate financial records. Your expertise will help us deliver seamless payroll services, support HR functions, and uphold confidentiality standards. Duties Process payroll accurately and efficiently using various payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, and Ceridian. Enter and verify data related to employee hours, wages, deductions, and benefits within HRIS platforms and accounting software like QuickBooks and PeopleSoft. Reconcile payroll accounts through detailed analysis of general ledger entries, double entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliations. Ensure compliance with employment laws, labor regulations, and tax law requirements by staying updated on relevant legislation. Prepare and review payroll reports, journal entries, and governmental filings related to payroll taxes and labor law adherence. Handle confidential employee information with integrity while maintaining data security protocols. Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and support audit processes. Experience Proven experience working with payroll management systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro. Strong background in corporate accounting practices including general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and double entry bookkeeping. Familiarity with HR systems (HRIS) and time & attendance systems used in payroll processing. Knowledge of employment & labor law as well as governmental accounting standards related to payroll taxes. Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data accurately using spreadsheets and accounting software. Experience handling sensitive information with discretion while ensuring compliance with all legal requirements. Prior work in a fast-paced environment supporting payroll processing within the food service or hospitality industry is a plus.
