Job Description

Our client, a transportation and distribution company, is looking for a Payroll Administrator to join their team in Fullerton, CA. In this temp-to-permanent role, you will support Human Resources and full-cycle payroll operations for a workforce of approximately 300 employees while ensuring accuracy, compliance with California labor laws, and timely payroll processing across multiple company locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and administer full-cycle payroll for approximately 300 employees Collect, review, and verify employee timekeeping information and hours worked Calculate regular and overtime wages, deductions, bonuses, benefits, and payroll adjustments Process new hires, terminations, wage changes, and employee status updates Administer vacation, sick time, benefits, and leaves of absence Maintain accurate employee payroll and HR records Utilize ADP to process payroll and maintain employee information Respond to employee and management questions regarding payroll, benefits, timekeeping, and HR policies Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner Ensure payroll practices comply with applicable federal and California labor laws Assist with payroll audits, reporting, and record retention Prepare payroll and HR reports as requested by management Collaborate with managers and leadership across multiple company locations Travel to Rancho Cucamonga and Santa Fe Springs locations when required Maintain strict confidentiality of all employee and payroll information
Requirements:
Previous experience in Human Resources and payroll administration required Hands-on experience with ADP required Experience processing payroll for approximately 300 employees preferred Previous experience in transportation, distribution, logistics, or a related industry strongly preferred Strong understanding of payroll procedures and California labor laws Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Excel High school diploma or equivalent required; additional HR or payroll education or certification is a plus Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity Reliable transportation and ability to travel between company locations as needed
Pay & Schedule:
Pay Rate:
$29.00 - $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00
