Job Description

Pacific Staffing is partnering with our greater Carmichael CA based client to identify a Payroll Specialist to support accurate, compliant, and timely payroll operations in a growing organization. This direct-hire role offers hybrid flexibility and strong upward mobility for a candidate looking to advance their career in payroll and accounting. The ideal professional will bring at least two years of payroll experience, hands-on Paylocity proficiency, and solid wage-and-hour labor law knowledge. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Payroll Specialist will play a key role in maintaining payroll accuracy, supporting reconciliations, and ensuring compliance across federal, state, and local regulations.
Role Type Direct Hire Hybrid Pay:
$28-$31/hour (DOE)
Responsibilities:
Process timely and accurate payroll using Paylocity.

Assist with payroll reconciliations and payroll-related reporting.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

Apply wage-and-hour labor law knowledge to payroll processing.

Support payroll audits, reconciliations, adjustments, and issue resolution.

Maintain organized and accurate payroll records.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of payroll experience.

High school diploma required.

Proficiency with Paylocity.

Strong understanding of wage-and-hour labor law.

High attention to detail and accuracy.
