• Bowman has an opportunity for a Payroll Specialist III to join our team remotely in in the West Coast (California, Oregon or Washington).

• Purpose
• Assist in the processing of in-house payroll and handling related activities for the Company.
• Responsibilities
• Leadership and Direction
• + Receive broad guidance relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution.

Receive direction as needed, and especially on highly complex assignments. + Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. + Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.

• At the Operational and Company Level
• + Assist with processing and reconciling payroll biweekly. + Ensure submission of timesheets. + Create basic ad-hoc reports on earnings, taxes, and deductions as required by management.
• Do the Work
• + Process certified payroll and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local prevailing wage requirements.

+ Prepare and issue paychecks. + Calculate and audit timesheets and make corrections as necessary. + Process labor adjustments. + Establish and maintain payroll files in accordance with audit requirements. + Maintain records of leave and nontaxable wages. + Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters. + Research payroll tax issues and manage tax applications. + Process new hires, terminations, manual/out of cycle checks, bonuses, salary adjustments, garnishments, and new hire state reporting. + Create basic ad-hoc reports on earnings, taxes, and deductions as required by management. + Respond to audit requests and provide requested documentation.

• Qualifications
• + Bachelor's degree in related discipline preferred.

+ Five or more (5+) years of experience handling computerized, multi-state payroll administration (preferably in-house) and knowledge of payroll laws and regulations in multi-state environment, including prevailing wage. + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). + Intermediate to advanced Excel Skills (reporting, data analysis, data manipulation, pivot tables, etc.). + Strong computer skills, including familiarity of imports/exports. + Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint preferred.
