Job Description

Description Our client in the biotechnology industry is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join their team. This role will be responsible for supporting end-to-end payroll processing while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate will have experience processing payroll, maintaining payroll records, resolving discrepancies, and partnering with HR and accounting to support payroll-related activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to contribute to a growing biotech organization.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Process multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule

+ Maintain payroll records and employee data in payroll systems

+ Review timesheets, earnings, deductions, bonuses, and adjustments for accuracy

+ Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

+ Assist with payroll tax reporting, garnishments, benefits deductions, and compliance requirements

+ Reconcile payroll-related accounts and support month-end close activities

+ Partner with HR and accounting on new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and benefit updates

+ Prepare payroll reports for management and audit support

+ Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations

+ Support process improvements and payroll system updates as needed

Requirements Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred + 2+ years of payroll experience

+ Experience processing payroll in a multi-state environment

+ Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and payroll best practices

+ Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel

+ Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities

+ Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience in biotech, life sciences, healthcare, or another regulated industry

+ Familiarity with ADP, Workday, UKG, or similar payroll platforms
