Job Description

Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable contract, Payroll Specialist to be 100% onsite in San Francisco. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who is passionate about accuracy, compliance, and providing exceptional support to employees. What You'll Do As a Payroll Specialist, you'll be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payroll while maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. Key Responsibilities

+ Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payrolls accurately and on schedule.

+ Review and validate payroll data, including hours worked, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and other pay adjustments.

+ Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data accuracy within payroll systems.

+ Respond to employee payroll inquiries regarding earnings, deductions, taxes, and time reporting.

+ Process payroll-related transactions, including new hires, terminations, promotions, bonuses, and leave of absence changes.

+ Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and company policies.

+ Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

+ Support payroll tax reporting and year-end activities, including W-2 preparation and audits.

+ Partner with Human Resources and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.

+ Assist with payroll audits, reporting, and special projects.

+ Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve operational efficiency.

  • Requirements Required Qualifications + Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

+ 3+ years of payroll processing experience.

+ Knowledge of payroll practices, wage and hour regulations, and payroll compliance requirements.

+ Experience using payroll systems and HRIS platforms.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

+ Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

+ Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.

+ Strong communication and customer service skills.
