Job Description
Overview United Staffing Associates is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Certified Payroll Specialist to manage the full payroll process while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll, maintaining employee payroll records, administering certified payroll reporting for prevailing wage projects, and serving as the primary payroll resource for employees and management. The ideal candidate has extensive payroll experience, strong knowledge of California wage and hour laws, and experience working with prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Payroll Administration Process full-cycle bi-weekly payroll for both hourly and salaried employees using Paylocity or similar payroll software. Conduct weekly audits of payroll and timekeeping records to ensure accuracy and compliance. Verify, correct, and maintain employee timekeeping records, including resolving discrepancies and entering time adjustments. Process payroll adjustments resulting from prior payroll errors, retroactive wage increases, or other compensation changes. Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related questions from employees and managers. Troubleshoot payroll issues and coordinate resolutions with Paylocity support or other payroll vendors. Create, maintain, and update payroll reports, workflows, and system configurations within Paylocity. Employee Data Management Maintain accurate employee personnel, payroll, tax, and compensation records within ERP, HRIS, and payroll systems.
