Payroll Specialist

Description Join our client in Colorado Springs, Colorado as a Payroll Specialist. This vital role is responsible for handling payroll functions, accounts payable activities, and supporting billing operations. The ideal candidate possesses solid expertise in payroll and accounting and demonstrates strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Accurately and promptly process payroll for roughly 250+ employees utilizing Paylocity. + Manage accounts payable, including vendor payments and account reconciliations. + Monitor credit card transactions and prepare related reports. + Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies within the general ledger to maintain financial integrity. + Propose and implement improvements to accounting workflows, enhancing integration between payroll and accounting systems. + Ensure payroll reconciliation and compliance with federal and state regulations. + Strengthen internal controls to minimize errors and support audit preparedness. + Track and process garnishments and other payroll-related deductions. + Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize financial operations and reporting. Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll management or accounting.
• Hands-on experience processing payroll for 100-500 employees.
• Proficiency in handling garnishments and payroll deductions.
• Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Advanced knowledge of Paylocity and Abila MIP software.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with Medicaid billing and Veterans Affairs processes is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
