$18-$20 We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our accounting team. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, maintaining employee payroll records, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with payroll systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Process weekly, bi-weekly, and/or monthly payroll for multiple clients. Review and verify employee timecards, wage calculations, and payroll deductions. Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information. Process garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other payroll deductions. Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports. Assist with payroll audits and compliance requirements. Respond to client and employee payroll-related questions in a professional and timely manner. Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and client information. Stay current on payroll laws, regulations, and best practices. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred. Previous payroll experience required; experience in an accounting firm preferred. Knowledge of payroll processes, payroll taxes, and labor laws. Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
