Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations in Boca Raton, Florida. This Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage payroll activities accurately, respond to employee questions with professionalism, and help maintain timely, compliant pay processing. The role requires strong analytical ability, sound judgment when handling sensitive information, and confidence working across multiple payroll systems and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for assigned cycles with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and policy compliance.
- Investigate payroll questions from employees and work closely with local teams to resolve pay, deduction, and employee data discrepancies.
- Review payroll records, validate adjustments, and confirm corrections before final submission.
- Reconcile payroll totals and perform balancing checks prior to transmitting each payroll run.
- Manage requests related to off-cycle payments, periodic check processing, and distribution based on site-specific instructions.
- Address garnishments, tax levies, and child support orders in a timely manner while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Maintain organized payroll files and supporting records in accordance with internal standards and audit needs.
- Partner with payroll leadership on escalated tax, processing, or system-related issues and assist with assigned departmental projects. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3-5 years of experience processing multi-state payroll in a high-volume environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for supporting employees and management at multiple levels.
- Proficiency with payroll and business software, including Excel, Word, and enterprise payroll platforms such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, Dayforce, Infinium, Kronos, or similar systems.
- Working knowledge of payroll-related functions such as benefits administration, garnishments, tax withholdings, and pay adjustments.
- Ability to handle confidential payroll information with discretion and professionalism.
