full-time Robert Half is hiring for a Payroll Tax Analyst for a client located in the Clearwater, FL area! Key Responsibilities Manage and support federal, state, and local payroll tax compliance, including tax calculations, deposits, filings, and reconciliations. Review payroll tax data for accuracy and identify and resolve discrepancies prior to filing deadlines. Reconcile payroll tax liabilities, general ledger accounts, tax filings, and payroll system records. Prepare, review, and reconcile quarterly and annual payroll tax filings, including Forms 941, W-2, W-3, and applicable state and local filings. Research and resolve payroll tax notices, penalties, amendments, and inquiries from federal, state, and local tax agencies. Maintain accurate employee tax setup, including federal, state, and local withholding elections and work/residence jurisdiction requirements. Support multi-state payroll tax compliance, including employee transfers, remote employees, reciprocity agreements, and state and local taxation requirements. Monitor changes to federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and ensure payroll processes and system configurations remain compliant. Assist with year-end payroll processing, including W-2 reconciliation, adjustments, corrections, and distribution. Maintain documentation and supporting records for payroll tax audits and internal compliance reviews. Identify opportunities to improve payroll tax processes, controls, reporting, and overall efficiency. Qualifications 3+ years of payroll tax experience preferred. Experience supporting multi-state payroll and payroll tax compliance. Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. Experience with payroll and HRIS systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions used for reconciliations and payroll data analysis. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across Payroll, HR, Accounting, and external vendors. Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and payroll information. Associate's degree or higher level of educations preferred.
