This position is primarily responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing and also provides office administration and human resources support. Responsibilities Process weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payrolls, including union and non-union employees. Review payroll information for accuracy, including hours worked, overtime, shift differentials, leave, deductions, and other payroll-related items. Maintain payroll records and process authorized employee changes, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, direct deposit, tax withholding, and payroll deductions. Process payroll adjustments, final paychecks, special payments, and off-cycle payrolls as needed. Review payroll registers and reports, respond to routine employee payroll questions, and follow up on payroll discrepancies. Prepare routine payroll tax, union, benefit deduction, and year-end payroll information, including support for W-2 processing and required payroll reports. Complete basic payroll reconciliations and standard payroll-related journal entries or supporting schedules. Manage incoming and outgoing mail, postage activities, office supplies, and other routine office needs. Provide general office and administrative support, including document preparation, recordkeeping, coordination, and follow-up. Assist with HR-related tasks such as onboarding and offboarding paperwork, employee files, leave records, recruiting coordination, and authorized personnel or benefit changes. Perform additional payroll, office administrative, and human resources support duties as assigned. Qualifications Two or more years of payroll processing, office administration, or related experience preferred. College degree in a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. Basic working knowledge of payroll practices, wage and hour requirements, payroll taxes, and employee deductions preferred. Experience using a computerized payroll system preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word required. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and follow-through. Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet payroll deadlines. Ability to communicate professionally with employees, management, vendors, and service providers. Ability to learn company procedures, follow established processes, and accept guidance as required. Ability to handle payroll and employee information with discretion and maintain appropriate confidentiality.
