Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with certification expertise in payroll processing, Certified Payroll and construction industry standards. In this vital role, you will manage comprehensive payroll functions, ensure compliance with labor and tax laws, and support the accurate and timely payment of employees. Your expertise in payroll systems, accounting software. Efficiency and accuracy across payroll operations is a must. Duties Process payroll using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, QuickBooks and other supported payroll platforms, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger postings aligned with construction industry standards. Ensure compliance with employment law, labor law regulations, and tax law requirements related to payroll processing and reporting. Handle confidential employee information with integrity while managing payroll tax filings, wage garnishments, benefit deductions, and other related data entry tasks. Support time & attendance systems by verifying employee hours, managing time tracking data, and resolving discrepancies efficiently. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable related to payroll expenses; assist with governmental accounting reports as needed. Conduct analysis of payroll data for accuracy; prepare reports for management review on payroll costs and labor law compliance. Maintain and reconcile payroll records, tracking tool/equipment account balances and related ledgers. Collaborate with HR and Accounting on payroll-related matters. Qualifications Proven experience in payroll within a construction or corporate accounting environment. Strong proficiency with payroll systems including ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, QuickBooks or similar platforms; technical support experience is a plus. Extensive knowledge of employment & labor law, tax law related to payroll taxes, and governmental reporting requirements. Demonstrated ability in accounting software such as QuickBooks or other financial tools; familiarity with spreadsheets for data analysis is essential. Experience handling confidential information with discretion; excellent attention to detail in data entry and account reconciliation tasks. Background in general ledger accounting, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits is highly desirable. Strong analysis skills combined with the ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently; familiarity with time & attendance systems is preferred. Prepare and submit Certified Payroll reports in compliance with prevailing wage requirements. 5+ years of payroll processing experience required. Certified Payroll experience required. QuickBooks experience a plus. Construction industry background strongly preferred. Experience tracking tool, equipment or school account balances a plus. High attention to detail and accuracy. Pay:
$23.50 - $28.00 per hour
