You apply a high attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of your work product You are looking to apply your skills and knowledge in payroll to support employees and complete payroll functions You ensure tasks are completed in an organized, timely, and confidential manner for the success of the department If yes, then bring your talent and skills to F.E. Moran Group of Companies! We have an exciting opportunity in our Northbrook, IL office for an experienced Payroll Specialist.
You Are:
KNOWLEDGEABLE
High School Diploma or equivalent and previous experience in payroll required; union reporting experience a plus but not required; able to grasp new concepts quickly and capacity to adapt
TECHNICAL
Intermediate MS Office and excel skills, including Vlookup and Pivot tables; experience with Penta, VISTA, My-Estub, and construction software ERP preferred
ORGANIZED
Able to prioritize and follow up to manage projects and deadlines
A COMMUNICATOR
Effectively communicate verbally and written to varied levels of audiences; comfortable asking questions and providing input and explanation What you'll do:
CRUNCH THE NUMBERS
Process weekly payroll for both union and non-union employees, ensuring all calculations and details are correct; process payroll garnishments as needed
UNION REPORTS
Complete, document, and submit union reports monthly; assist with union audits as required; maintain union rates and fringes
CERTIFIED PAYROLL REPORTING
Project set-up, weekly and monthly report submission and report finalization upon project completion in compliance with the Davis-Bacon Act, Prevailing Wage and other Local, State and Federal requirements
DOCUMENT & PROCESS
Maintain and submit documents related to time-entry, Federal 941 and state payroll tax payments and returns, year-end payroll, and W2 preparation
ASSIST EMPLOYEES
Answer employee questions; onboard and offboard employees into payroll programs and maintain employee records
BUILD RELATIONSHIPS
Build and maintain positive relationships with payroll and accounting teams, provide excellent customer service experience to other internal and external customers.
