Fully Onsite Salary:
$60,000-$70,000 Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in LaPorte, Indiana. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional with strong multi-state, construction, and union payroll experience who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while partnering closely with employees, field teams, HR, accounting, and management. Key Responsibilities Process multi-state payroll accurately and efficiently, including hourly, salaried, overtime, and variable compensation. Manage union payroll , including multiple union contracts, benefit deductions, prevailing wage requirements, and related reporting. Process payroll for construction employees and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Review timekeeping records, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate labor and job-cost allocations. Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for accounting and management. Maintain accurate employee payroll records and respond to payroll-related questions and issues. Partner with HR and field leadership regarding new hires, terminations, wage changes, deductions, and other payroll updates. Assist with year-end payroll activities, W-2s, audits, and compliance reporting. Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and efficiency. Qualifications 3+ years of payroll experience , with strong hands-on processing experience. Proven experience with multi-state payroll . Construction and union payroll experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of wage and hour regulations, union agreements, prevailing wage, and payroll compliance. Strong Excel and payroll systems experience; experience with Viewpoint, Vista, ComputerEase, Procore, ADP, or similar systems is a plus. Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent accuracy. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, field personnel, HR, and accounting. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment . Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
