Job Description
The Payroll Administrator serves a major role in all Payroll functions. Responsibility for processing, review and data entry in both ADP and Meditech systems. Processing and review of weekly, bi-weekly and out-of-cycle payroll for both Lawrence General Hospital and its affiliated entities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to Fiscal Services department goals and objectives consistent with the Hospital's strategic and operating plans.
- Perform all activities necessary to process multiple weekly and biweekly payrolls on a timely basis to ensure employees are paid correctly.
- Perform reviews of data being processed on a weekly basis.
- Print checks for all applicable employees.
- Prepare manual checks and generate required input data, including application of knowledge of tax withholding regulations to determine what taxes to withhold under a variety of situations.
- Prepare weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly withholding packages including check and ACH debit requests to submit to Payroll Manager for review.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned by the Payroll Manager.
- Work with Human Resources to ensure accurate direct deposit updates.
- Daily monitoring and coordination of the payroll inbox.
- Responsible for handling termination payments, retro payments, levy's and other special withholdings.
- Responsible for AD Hoc reporting as needed (Examples FTE reporting, audit requests, various salary reports).
EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE
Required:
- 5 + years in payroll processing
- High school diploma.
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-spaced environment that requires strong typing skills/speed
- Comfortable communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Preferred:
- Experience working in ADP and/or Meditech
- Experience working in a healthcare organization
