Overland Park, KS Job Details $60,000 - $65,000 a year 3 hours ago Qualifications Mid-level 3 years Communication skills Full Job Description HR & Payroll Specialist | Overland Park, KS Direct Hire| $60-65K LHH is partnering with well-established financial institution seeking to hire a detail-oriented and people-focused Payroll & HR Specialist. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing the technical aspects of payroll administration with the employee-facing functions of Human Resources. The role will primarily focus on payroll processing while also supporting onboarding, new hire orientation, employee records management, and HR administration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process bi-weekly payroll for employees accurately and on schedule. Review timesheets, deductions, garnishments, benefits, and tax withholdings. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Maintain payroll records and perform payroll audits and reconciliations. Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries. Generate payroll-related reports and assist with year-end processing activities. Partner with Finance to ensure accurate payroll reporting and approvals. Maintain employee data within payroll and HRIS systems. Coordinate new hire onboarding and employee orientation. Prepare onboarding paperwork and ensure completion of employment documentation. Maintain employee personnel files and HR records. Support employee lifecycle activities including status changes, promotions, and terminations. Assist with benefits enrollment and employee questions. Coordinate background screenings and pre-employment processes. Support HR compliance initiatives and policy administration. Partner with management to ensure a positive employee experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of payroll processing experience. Previous HR, onboarding, or employee relations support experience preferred. Strong understanding of payroll compliance, taxes, deductions, and garnishments. Experience with HRIS and payroll systems such as ADP, Paycom, Workday, UKG, or similar platforms. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Strong communication and customer service skills.
Pay Details:
