HR and Payroll Clerk Responsibilities :
Human Resources Manage full-cycle recruitment for nursing, clinical, and support staff Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and background checks Maintain employee personnel files and ensure regulatory compliance Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, PTO, and retirement plans Track licenses and certifications for nursing staff Assist with employee relations matters and disciplinary documentation Ensure compliance with labor laws, wage regulations, and long-term care requirements Support audits and surveys (e.g., state health department inspections) Maintain OSHA and workplace safety documentation Payroll Administration Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time Maintain timekeeping systems and verify hours worked Calculate overtime, shift differentials, and holiday pay Ensure proper wage calculations in accordance with federal and state laws Manage payroll deductions, garnishments, and benefit contributions Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies Prepare payroll-related reports for management Coordinate with accounting for tax filings and reporting Compliance & Reporting Ensure compliance with: Federal and state labor laws FLSA regulations Healthcare staffing requirements HIPAA confidentiality standards Assist with workers' compensation claims and unemployment claims Maintain accurate records for audits and regulatory reviews
Qualifications Education & Experience:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred 2+ years of HR and/or payroll experience (healthcare or long-term care experience preferred) Experience with payroll software and timekeeping systems Preferred Qualifications Experience in a nursing home, assisted living, or healthcare setting Knowledge of long-term care staffing regulations HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred Affirmative Action Statement We are an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
