Job Overview We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee the payroll processing functions, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees while maintaining compliance with all relevant labor laws and tax regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in payroll systems and accounting software, along with a thorough understanding of HRIS platforms and governmental reporting requirements. Responsibilities Manage end-to-end payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Maintain and update employee records within HRIS platforms, including employment status, tax information, and benefits data. Reconcile payroll accounts through detailed analysis of spreadsheets, general ledger entries, and payroll system reports. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and labor laws related to payroll tax withholding, reporting, and remittance. Prepare journal entries for payroll transactions, including debits and credits, for accurate financial reporting. Handle confidential information with discretion while managing payroll data entry and processing tasks. Collaborate with accounting teams on accounts receivable, accounts payable, and governmental accounting functions as needed. Assist with audits related to payroll tax filings and internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance. Support the integration of time & attendance systems such as Kronos or Time & Attendance systems for accurate wage calculations. Generate detailed reports on payroll expenses, labor costs, and other financial metrics for management review. Requirements Minimum of three years' experience in payroll management or related roles within corporate accounting or finance environments. Proficiency with payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro; experience supporting multiple systems is preferred. Strong knowledge of employment law, labor law compliance, and payroll tax regulations across different jurisdictions. Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, Ceridian, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms. Demonstrated expertise in spreadsheets (Excel) for data analysis and account reconciliation tasks. Solid understanding of general ledger accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping and journal entries. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high accuracy in data entry. Excellent analytical skills combined with attention to detail and organizational capabilities. Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
