This role supports multi-state payroll operations for approximately 400 employees in a fast-paced public company environment. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely employee compensation. Strong knowledge of SOX compliance and payroll controls in a public company setting is preferred. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Workday, comfortable troubleshooting payroll systems, and able to quickly learn new technologies. Experience with One Source Virtual is a plus. This role requires a tech-savvy, adaptable, and detail-oriented professional who can work cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Accounting teams.
Key Responsibilites:
Process multi-state payroll for ~400 employees using Workday or similar systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Ensure compliance with SOX controls, payroll policies, and audit requirements in a public company environment Reconcile payroll data with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, PeopleSoft) Prepare payroll-related journal entries and perform account reconciliations (wages, taxes, benefits) Manage payroll-related deductions, tax withholdings, and benefits administration compliance Partner with HR, Finance, and Accounting to ensure seamless payroll and GL integration Analyze payroll reports, resolve discrepancies, and implement corrective actions Troubleshoot payroll system issues and support process improvements Skills & Qualifications Strong experience with Workday payroll required One Source Virtual experience strongly preferred Background in multi-state payroll processing Knowledge of SOX compliance and payroll controls in a public company environment preferred Strong accounting knowledge (journal entries, debits/credits, reconciliations) Familiarity with HRIS and financial systems such as QuickBooks or PeopleSoft Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail with strong data entry accuracy Ability to learn systems quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment #RJAF123
