Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join an organization in Baltimore, Maryland in a contract capacity with the potential for a permanent position. This position supports payroll and benefit-related administration.
Responsibilities:
  • Review and process payroll.
  • Create and distribute shipping materials, certified mail, payment vouchers, W-2 copies, and other claim-related documents as needed.
  • Maintain accurate departmental files, direct deposit records, withholding documentation, contribution data, and power of attorney records in an organized manner.
  • Prepare recurring weekly and monthly reports.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including tracking voided checks and supporting manual adjustments, early return updates, and other payroll-related changes. Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in payroll, payroll administration, or closely related claims/payment processing work.
  • Working knowledge of full-cycle payroll practices, including deductions, garnishments, and payment record maintenance.
  • Ability to review data carefully, identify discrepancies, and take appropriate action to resolve issues accurately.
  • Strong numerical skills with the ability to calculate, reconcile, and verify payment-related information.
  • Experience maintaining files, handling sensitive documents, and keeping records organized for reporting and compliance purposes.
  • Comfortable communicating with members, employers, and internal departments in a detail-focused and service-oriented manner.
  • Proficiency with administrative office tasks such as filing, document preparation, and managing routine reporting deadlines.
