We are seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Payroll Specialist who is passionate about accuracy, service excellence, and supporting employees through every stage of their employment journey. Position Summary The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for team members across Brio Living Services. This role serves as a key resource for payroll-related questions, supports HRIS functions, validates payroll data, assists with reporting, and helps maintain compliance with applicable payroll regulations and organizational policies. Working closely with the Benefits & Payroll Manager and HR team, this position plays an important role in delivering an outstanding employee experience through responsive service, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule Review and reconcile payroll records prior to payroll transmission Validate payroll reports and identify discrepancies Support timekeeping system administration and payroll interfaces Process garnishments and ensure regulatory compliance Assist with year-end payroll reporting, including W-2 processing Manage payroll-related data imports and investigate file issues Respond to employee payroll questions with professionalism and empathy Generate payroll and HR-related reports Reconcile HR invoices and support departmental financial processes Partner with HR, Finance, and operational leaders to resolve payroll concerns Assist with HRIS administration and employee data maintenance The above is a summary of the position, it in no way states or implies that these are the only duties this position will be required to perform. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Minimum of two years of experience in payroll, HR, accounting, or a related administrative role Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel Strong customer service and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Payroll processing experience Experience working with ADP Workforce Now and/or eTime HRIS experience Experience in healthcare, senior living, nonprofit, or multi-site organizations Knowledge of payroll taxation, garnishments, and payroll compliance requirements The Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who: Takes pride in getting the details right Enjoys helping employees and solving problems Communicates with kindness, patience, and professionalism Can work independently while collaborating effectively with others Demonstrates integrity and discretion when handling confidential information Thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities Job Benefits Career Growth & Development
