The Experience You'll Create:
The Associate Payroll Specialist supports the day-to-day administration of payroll processes by performing data entry, maintaining payroll records, and following established payroll procedures. This role is responsible for ensuring employee payroll information is entered accurately and processed according to company policies, union agreements, and regulatory requirements. The Associate Payroll Specialist works closely with Payroll, Human Resources, and employees to collect and validate payroll-related information while escalating complex issues to senior payroll team members as needed. This position is ideal for an individual who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working within defined processes and procedures. Enter employee payroll data into payroll systems, including new hires, transfers, pay rate changes, deductions, and other payroll-related transactions. Review timesheets, attendance records, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy before payroll processing. Follow established payroll procedures to support timely and accurate payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees. Process standard payroll adjustments, deductions, and updates based on approved documentation. Assist with the administration of union dues, garnishments, direct deposits, and other payroll-related deductions. Reconcile routine payroll reports and identify data entry errors or discrepancies for review by Payroll leadership. Generate and distribute standard payroll reports, earnings statements, and other payroll documentation. Respond to routine employee payroll inquiries and direct more complex issues as needed. Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll and compensation information. Adhere to company policies, payroll procedures, union agreements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Associate's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred. 1+ years of payroll, accounting, human resources, or administrative experience preferred. Experience working with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, or data entry applications is desirable. Experience with Paycom preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record maintenance. Ability to follow established procedures and work instructions consistently.
