What you'll do Process payroll accurately and on time — paystubs, paychecks, and direct deposits, done right Keep client and employee payroll records current, from new hires to terminations to pay rate changes Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and wage laws Calculate and process payroll deductions, including benefits, garnishments, and retirement contributions File and remit federal and state payroll taxes, including monthly and quarterly filings Prepare and file quarterly and annual tax forms (940, 941, W-2, W-3) and state-specific reports Reconcile payroll accounts and verify data for accuracy Be a go-to resource for employees and clients with payroll, tax withholding, and deduction questions Support audits with documentation and reporting as needed Safeguard the confidentiality of payroll and employee information Partner closely with HR and Accounting to keep data consistent and resolve discrepancies Stay ahead of changes in payroll law, tax regulations, and industry best practices Use payroll software (ACS or similar) and accounting tools to keep processes running smoothly What you bring Minimum an associate degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience) — a bachelor's degree is a plus At least two years of payroll experience in a multi-client or fast-paced environment Solid knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations Familiarity with wage and hour laws, including overtime, FLSA, and benefit deductions Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail Excellent written and verbal communication Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, and payroll/accounting software The discretion to handle sensitive information with care Great organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines The ability to thrive both independently and as part of a team Experience with ACS (Thomson Reuters) is a plus; experience with ADP, QuickBooks, Paychex, UKG, or similar systems is welcome too What's in it for you A genuinely great company culture, with fun events to match Medical, dental, vision, disability, AD&D, and term life insurance Aflac supplemental coverage options Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts 401(k) with a 3% Safe Harbor company contribution Generous PTO, with eligibility for Unlimited PTO Paid parental leave, for moms and dads alike Education and certification reimbursement Continuing education credits Paid time off to volunteer in your community Real, meaningful growth opportunities Ready to see what's possible?
