Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team in Springfield, Ohio. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to showcase your expertise in processing Canadian payroll while ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to manage payroll processes for a large workforce.
Responsibilities:
  • Process comprehensive Canadian payroll operations, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations.
  • Accurately calculate and remit statutory withholdings, including employment insurance (EI), income tax, and provincial deductions.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring all data entries and adjustments are accurate and complete.
  • Prepare and distribute year-end tax documents such as T4s and RL-1s, and address inquiries from employees and government agencies.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate administration of benefits, deductions, and compensation.
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll legislation, including updates on vacation pay, statutory holidays, and tax reporting.
  • Support payroll audits by providing detailed documentation and resolving discrepancies.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality standards for sensitive employee payroll information.
  • Assist with resolving payroll issues related to timesheets, benefits, and deductions in a timely manner.
