Job Description

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to support payroll and accounts payable operations for a healthcare organization. This contract position calls for someone who is detail oriented and can manage bi-weekly payroll, maintain accurate financial records, and work confidently within Paycom and related accounting processes. The ideal candidate brings strong payroll experience, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive employee and financial information with a high level of confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
  • Process bi-weekly payroll in a third-party system, ensuring timely completion and distribution of required payroll reports.
  • Review employee time records, identify discrepancies, and apply corrections so payroll is aligned with organizational policies and pay practices.
  • Prepare payroll funding activities, including check processing and deposit coordination, within established deadlines.
  • Enter and maintain accounts payable transactions with accurate coding, vendor details, and invoice documentation in the accounting system.
  • Reconcile invoice issues with vendors and internal departments, documenting variances and escalating items for review when needed.
  • Generate payment runs, confirm check accuracy, and organize checks for approval and release.
  • Track outstanding checks, balance petty cash activity, and maintain daily financial logs and supporting records.
  • Support compliance reporting by preparing use tax documentation, assisting with annual 1099 processing, and maintaining orderly record retention and scanned finance files.
  • Help update payroll and accounts payable procedure documentation while safeguarding confidential employee, patient, and organizational information.
