Job Description

Payroll Assistant The Arc of Hunterdon County is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are seeking a qualified candidate for a Payroll Assistant. This is a fast-paced, detail-oriented position that requires discretion and accuracy. Full-time, 37.5 hour/week office position. The Payroll Assistant supports both the payroll and human resources departments with basic office responsibilities, employee communications and reporting for The Arc of Hunterdon County, a non-profit community agency committed to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Payroll Assistant will Provide support for the Assistant Director of Payroll Operations Perform administrative and clerical duties for the finance and personnel departments Complete administrative personnel work for new and existing employees; such as preparing employment letters, change of position letters, entering employee information in electronic system, uploading employee documents Assist in bi-weekly and supplemental payrolls accurately and on schedule Review and verify employee timecards, attendance records, and payroll-related data, and prepare all time-related records for automated processing Enter payroll information into payroll systems and maintain employee payroll records Assist with payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, garnishments, and retirement contributions Prepare payroll-related journal entries and support accounting reconciliation Complete other responsibilities as needed or requested
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent, driver's license with fewer than five points; Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) preferred.
