Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join a lean, hands-on Payroll team on a full-time, direct-hire basis. This role reports directly to the Manager, Payroll & Benefits Accounting and operates within a semi-monthly, multi-state payroll environment. The ideal candidate is a senior-level payroll professional who can work independently with minimal ramp-up and is comfortable being hands-on within a small team.
Responsibilities:
Process semi-monthly payroll for a multi-state employee population Administer Leave of Absence (LOA) transactions within Workday Support payroll processing for new hires and terminations Perform retroactive payroll calculations and adjustments Coordinate regularly with the Benefits Director on payroll and benefits matters Operate independently within a lean team structure, escalating appropriately to the
Manager, Payroll & Benefits Accounting Requirements:
Strong Workday Payroll experience (required) Experience processing Leave of Absence transactions within Workday (required) Multi-state payroll experience and related tax knowledge (required) Senior-level payroll background (required) Ability to work independently with minimal training Experience supporting lean payroll teams Strong communication skills and stakeholder management Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
