The Payroll Coordinator will:
Ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant administration of payroll transactions for more than two thousand (2,000) Health Care Authority (HCA) employees; Serve as a key resource for employees and management by providing payroll support, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, and ensuring payroll deadlines established by the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) are met. How does it get done? The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for: Processing all payroll transactions for new hires, promotions, terminations, retroactive payments, manual warrants, employee data changes (such as W-4 and direct deposit updates), leave audits and adjustments, time and labor exception corrections, bi-weekly payroll analysis, and maintaining payroll records; Ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting operational efficiency, financial accountability, and excellent customer service; Performing all other duties as assigned. Ideal Candidate Health Care Authority (HCA) Management and employees; Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) Central Payroll. Minimum Qualification Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration and two (2) years of directly related experience. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must obtain a Defensive Driving certification. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and phone usage with extended periods of sitting.
