Payroll Specialist Kirisits & Associates, CPAs, PLLC, located in the City of Buffalo, is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our growing and collaborative team. About Us Kirisits & Associates is a boutique CPA firm dedicated to delivering exceptional client service across a diverse range of accounting and advisory functions, including auditing and accounting services, corporate and individual tax preparation and planning, client accounting services (CAS), CFO advisory services, and management consulting. No travel required No overtime expected Excellent work-life balance Supportive, team-oriented culture Opportunity to work with a diverse client base Professional growth and development Position Summary The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of payroll for multiple outsourced accounting clients. This role manages all aspects of payroll processing, reporting, payroll tax compliance, retirement reporting, and related payroll administration while providing exceptional client service. Essential Responsibilities Process semi-monthly payrolls for multiple client companies. Collect, review, and verify employee time records. Process payroll deductions, benefit withholdings, and garnishments. Prepare monthly NYSTRS reporting and assist with payroll submissions. Verify and maintain employee NYSTRS enrollment information. Process and remit employee 403(b) contributions. Review and respond to payroll-related notices, including New York State Unemployment Insurance, disability, and garnishment notices. Assist with workers' compensation audits and related payroll documentation. Prepare pay notices and payroll calculations for employees on leaves of absence. Generate payroll reports and assist with special projects as assigned. Provide outstanding customer service to outsourced payroll clients. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of payroll processing and payroll administration experience. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience managing payroll for multiple companies or clients is highly preferred. Experience with payroll software is preferred.
