$70,000 - $90,000 + Benefits About the Opportunity We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our growing team in Columbus, Ohio. This role will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and supporting key payroll and HR technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong SAP payroll experience and a proven track record supporting system implementations, upgrades, or payroll transformation projects . Key Responsibilities Process payroll accurately and on schedule for salaried and hourly employees. Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with all applicable wage and tax regulations. Audit payroll transactions, deductions, garnishments, bonuses, commissions, and taxes. Partner with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to resolve payroll-related issues. Support payroll month-end and year-end activities, including W-2 processing and reconciliations. Lead and support payroll system implementations, upgrades, testing, and process improvements. Develop and maintain payroll procedures, controls, and documentation. Serve as a subject matter expert for payroll system functionality and reporting. Assist with audits and respond to payroll inquiries from employees and leadership. Qualifications 3+ years of payroll experience in a corporate environment. Hands-on experience with SAP Payroll required. Experience participating in or leading payroll system implementations, conversions, or major system upgrades required. Knowledge of payroll regulations, payroll taxes, and compliance requirements. Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis. Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. CPP certification is a plus. Preferred Experience SAP payroll platforms. Experience with payroll process improvement and automation initiatives. Exposure to large employee populations and complex payroll environments.
