Payroll Specialist Job Summary The Payroll Specialist provides comprehensive HR support services to employees across Kettering Health while delivering exceptional customer service. This role is responsible for a variety of administrative, transactional, and records management functions that support Human Resources operations. The specialist maintains employee records, processes HR transactions, prepares employee communications, and ensures the accuracy and confidentiality of sensitive information. Minimum Qualifications Education Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience Minimum of three (3) years of related Human Resources or administrative experience. Required Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel and Word. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently while maintaining strict confidentiality. Essential Responsibilities Review Timekeeper training records and assist with Timekeeper assignments within HR Systems. Maintain and update Timekeeper distribution lists. Process employee W-4 workflow transactions. Perform retroactive bonus calculations and payroll adjustments. Maintain YMCA payroll deduction records. Scan and submit employee garnishment orders to the outsourced processing vendor. Process direct deposit returns and related payroll transactions. Update ACH notifications and banking information as needed. Research, reconcile, and update Paid Time Off (PTO) accruals. Respond to complex employee inquiries escalated from Tier 1 support. Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation. Prepare employee communications related to HR transactions and processes. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
