HR & Payroll Coordinator Location Government Camp, OR 97028 Date Posted April 06, 2026 Job ID 14418 Employment Type Contract Pay rate $35/hour Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an HR & Payroll Coordinator for a dynamic and fast-growing and fun organization. This is an onsite opportunity in Government Camp, Oregon.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This role is ideal for an organized and proactive HR professional who enjoys keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly. The HR & Payroll Coordinator will support onboarding, timekeeping, payroll preparation, and employee records while serving as a key point of contact for internal HR needs. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role with immediate impact, perfect for someone who can jump in quickly and bring structure to a busy environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a daily HR support resource by managing the HR inbox, responding to employee questions, and routing inquiries as needed Run and track timekeeping reports (missed punches, unapproved timecards, active employees clocked in) and follow up with managers to ensure completion Support bi-weekly payroll prep by confirming approvals for timecards, time off, personnel changes, and other payroll-related updates Coordinate onboarding processes, including tracking completion of paperwork, sending reminders, and entering new hire data into systems Maintain accurate employee records, update trackers (new hires, terminations, leave), and upload/file documentation Handle routine verifications and escalate more complex issues such as pay concerns, employee relations matters, or compliance questions
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in HR support, HR coordination, payroll assistance, or administrative roles supporting people operations Familiarity with timekeeping, onboarding workflows, or employee record management Strong attention to detail with the ability to track and follow up on multiple tasks Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive employee information Comfortable working independently and navigating systems such as HRIS/payroll platforms and Microsoft Office
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This temporary position offers a pay rate of $30-$35/hour. The role will average 20-30 hours per week with flexibility based on workload. The assignment is expected to last approximately 3 months, with potential for extension based on business needs. Equipment will be provided for this onsite role.
