Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accurate financial records, processing payroll efficiently, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, support budgeting and financial reporting, and streamline payroll operations. Duties Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems. Process payroll accurately and on time, including calculating wages, deductions, taxes, and benefits in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Reconcile bank statements and perform account reconciliations for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other ledger accounts to ensure data accuracy. Prepare journal entries for various financial transactions following GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining detailed records. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation regularly to verify the accuracy of financial statements. Generate detailed financial reports, including budgets, financial analysis, and audit documentation to support decision-making processes. Skills Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, and other financial systems. Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, non-profit accounting practices, and technical accounting concepts. Experience with payroll processing systems and procedures including tax filings and compliance requirements. Expertise in account reconciliation, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, and general ledger accounting. Excellent spreadsheet skills with advanced knowledge of Excel or similar tools for data analysis and report writing. Familiarity with GAAP standards and accounting regulations relevant to diverse organizational types. Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently along with attention to detail in account analysis and budget management.
