Job Description

Steptoe & Johnson is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to oversee the firm's bi-weekly payroll for more than 800 employees. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, tax compliance, payroll reporting, and employee support. Key Responsibilities Process bi-weekly payroll and maintain payroll records in the HRIS system. Manage payroll changes, direct deposits, leave accruals, garnishments, and tax filings. Respond to employee payroll inquiries and assist new hires with payroll documentation. Coordinate payroll-related reporting, audits, and vendor file transmissions. Support 401(k) administration and annual audits. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing and administration experience. Experience with
HRIS/HCM
systems preferred. Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel. Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. $68,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
