Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to oversee payroll processing and support employee compensation activities. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payroll administration, maintaining payroll records, responding to employee inquiries, and supporting compliance with company policies and payroll regulations. Responsibilities:
  • Process weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly payroll for employees.
  • Review and validate timesheets, payroll changes, deductions, and benefit elections.
  • Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and update information as needed.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
  • Process garnishments, tax withholdings, direct deposits, and other payroll deductions.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end reporting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports for management, audits, and internal departments.
  • Partner with Human Resources and Accounting to support employee onboarding, terminations, and payroll changes.
  • Assist with payroll process improvements and system updates.
Requirements Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and wage and hour requirements.
  • Experience with payroll and HRIS systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and reporting functions.
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion.
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation is a plus but not required.
Preferred Experience:
  • Multi-state payroll processing.
  • Payroll reconciliations and reporting.
  • Benefits administration and payroll deductions.
  • Time and attendance systems.
  • ERP, payroll, or HRIS software platforms such as ADP, Paychex, UKG, Workday, Paylocity, or Ceridian.
