Job Description

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately processing employee wages, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, and maintaining payroll records. This role requires attention to detail, confidentiality, and strong organizational skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILIITES
Process biweekly and semi-monthly multi-State payroll for employees Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions Maintain and update employee payroll records Verify timesheets and resolve discrepancies Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations Handle employee inquiries regarding pay, taxes, and deductions Coordinate with HR and accounting departments Manage direct deposits and paper checks Assist with audits and year-end reporting (e.g., W-2s)
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this job while exercising appropriate levels of judgment and discretion. Proven experience in payroll Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., iSolved) Strong knowledge of payroll laws and tax regulations Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Effective leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills Excellent time management and organizational skills Ability to meet strict deadlines Ability to work independently. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Proven ability to maintain confidential information Adaptable and can handle stressful situations with professionalism
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with multi-state payroll or large employee populations
EDUCATIONEXPERIENCE
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred) 3+ years of payroll processing experience
