Job Description

Company Conformance Statements:

Position Purpose:
The Plant Payroll Specialist runs weekly and plant payrolls and while also maintaining all aspects of those payrolls.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
Responsible for the complete processing of the following payrolls: Weekly (Erie, Rochester, Towanda, Vulcan, and Kiantone Terminals)
URC. IUOE
#95 Union Payrolls (Biweekly) URC. Calculating hours, division of hours to shifts, coordination of job cards to the timecards, and various phone-in payroll hours and information recording and verification. Entering hours (and all other employee data) on the computer system. All maintenance involves in printing checks and related registers, signing, and bursting all reports and checks, distributing and depositing checks.
Personnel Records:
Responsible for setting up and maintaining the personnel files for all employees paid on the above listed payrolls. Enter and update all employee personnel data on the computer system. Supply employee information to immediate supervisors and
AVP - HR
as needed. Completion of any unemployment claim forms pertaining to employees paid on the above listed payrolls. Completion of all forms for employment verification such as credit references, support orders, and tax information.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to work and maintain confidential information Accurate typing required Programs/Equipment Used Computer Microsoft Office Office equipment; printer, fax machine, scanner
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education and Experience:
Associate's degree in accounting, Payroll, or another business-related field
Work Environment:
Office Physical Requirements:
Prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift 20 pounds at times with or without assistance
