Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist to manage our financial records and ensure accurate payroll processing. In this vital role, you will oversee daily bookkeeping activities, maintain the integrity of our financial data, and handle payroll functions with precision. Responsibilities Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections Record and reconcile journal entries, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems Perform bank reconciliations and account analysis to verify financial data integrity Process payroll accurately and on schedule, including calculating wages, deductions, taxes, and benefits using payroll software Maintain compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant accounting standards for nonprofit or corporate entities Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for internal review and external reporting Conduct monthly reconciliation of the general ledger and support year-end audits by providing necessary documentation Requirements Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or comparable systems Familiarity with payroll processing procedures and payroll software tools Solid understanding of GAAP standards and nonprofit or corporate accounting practices Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data analysis, budgeting, and report writing Ability to perform account reconciliation tasks including bank reconciliation and account analysis accurately Knowledge of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, general ledger accounting, and balance sheet reconciliation Join us to be a key player in maintaining our financial integrity while supporting our mission through precise bookkeeping and payroll management.
