Construction Payroll Specialist Location:
Goodlettsville, TN Job Type:
Full-Time, In Office, Mon
- Fri•7:30am•4:30pm
Compensation:
Up to $25/hr
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to work in our Goodlettsville, TN office. This is an in person position, not remote or hybrid.
Key Responsibilities:
Process weekly payroll for field and office employees in a fast-paced construction environment. Review and verify employee timecards, job coding, and labor hours for accuracy prior to payroll processing. Audit GPS and time-tracking data to ensure accurate reporting of employee hours and jobsite activity. Maintain and process prevailing wage payroll in compliance with federal, state, and project-specific requirements. Prepare and submit certified payroll reports and supporting documentation for public works projects. Calculate payroll deductions, taxes, garnishments, and benefits, including FICA, federal, and state tax withholdings. Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve timekeeping or wage issues with employees and supervisors. Maintain accurate payroll records and employee documentation in accordance with company policies and labor regulations. Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and HR to ensure proper labor allocation and reporting. Assist with payroll audits and compliance reviews as needed. Support month-end reporting, labor cost tracking, and payroll-related administrative functions.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate s degree preferred 3+ years of payroll support in a construction industry Knowledge of prevailing wage payroll. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment:
