Northwest D.C. -Hybrid Schedule:
40 hours per week We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a higher education firm. This opportunity sits in the client's D.C. office on a hybrid schedule. This is a full-time opportunity. Experience with payroll system Lawson would be a huge plus! Duties & Responsibilities- Perform daily payroll department operations
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
- Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
- Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
- Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary
- Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
- Process manual check and relocation metric's
- Update and reconcile monthly bank statements Education & Experience
- Associates Degree or higher in Accounting or related industry (strongly preferred)
- 2+ years of experience processing high volume payroll (required)
- Strong oral and written communication
