Training:
Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Eastern Blue Signal is partnering with a leading global business services organization to hire multiple experienced Payroll Tax Processors for a fully remote team. This position is ideal for someone with strong multi-state payroll-tax experience who can independently resolve tax notices, amendments, payroll discrepancies, and agency escalations in a high-volume environment. What You'll Do Process high-volume federal, state, and local payroll-tax activity across multiple jurisdictions. Research and resolve IRS and state tax notices, discrepancies, penalties, and agency correspondence. Prepare amended federal and state payroll-tax returns, including Forms 941-X and W-2c. Correct payroll and tax errors while maintaining complete and accurate documentation. Review payroll-tax data for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance. Manage escalated or complex tax issues using independent judgment. Communicate with internal teams, clients, and government agencies to resolve outstanding matters. Meet established productivity, accuracy, quality, and turnaround-time expectations. Identify process improvements and assist with mentoring or supporting less-experienced team members. Required Qualifications At least two years of high-volume, multi-state U.S. payroll-tax processing experience. Experience working for a payroll services company, payroll provider, or payroll bureau. Direct experience responding to federal and state payroll-tax notices. Experience preparing or processing Forms 941-X, W-2c, and state tax amendments. Strong understanding of payroll corrections, tax reconciliations, and agency correspondence. Ability to independently research and resolve complex payroll-tax issues. Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven remote environment. Comfortable learning and using payroll systems, workflow tools, and AI-enabled productivity tools. Preferred Qualifications Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification. Experience mentoring team members or serving as an escalation resource. Experience improving payroll-tax processes, documentation, or quality controls. Experience supporting large employer populations or multiple client accounts. Schedule and Remote Requirements Initial training is scheduled Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Eastern, with a one-hour lunch. Candidates must be available for an equipment and technology check on September 17. Post-training schedules are Monday-Friday and may fall within 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Pacific. Required computer equipment will be shipped to selected employees. Candidates must maintain a reliable internet connection and an appropriate private workspace.
