Payroll Tax Specialist Location:
Remote (Must be within NY)Pay Rate:
$21/hrDuration:
1-Year Contract Position Overview Our client is seeking a Payroll Tax Specialist to support payroll tax amendment processes and provide excellent customer service to internal teams and clients. This role involves researching payroll tax issues, preparing amended tax returns, communicating with clients regarding payments or refunds, and ensuring filings are completed accurately and on time. Key Responsibilities- Prepare and process amended federal, state, and local payroll tax returns
- Research payroll tax discrepancies and resolve issues accurately
- Communicate with clients regarding amended returns, payments, refunds, and fees
- Respond to payroll tax penalty inquiries from clients and internal teams
- Maintain accurate documentation and billing information
- Identify process improvements and support operational efficiencies
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining compliance standards
- Support team training and assist with additional administrative duties as needed Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 4 years of customer service or payroll experience required
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
