Job Description

We're seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to support payroll operations for Mexico while contributing to U.S. payroll activities as needed. This role is a great opportunity to help strengthen payroll processes, improve controls, and partner across teams in a global environment. Responsibilities Support accurate and timely payroll processing for team members in Mexico in partnership with an outsourced payroll provider Help manage day-to-day payroll activities and employee inquiries with a strong focus on service and accuracy Strengthen payroll procedures by creating and maintaining checklists, controls, and standardized workflows Partner with Finance, Internal Audit, and other internal stakeholders to support compliance and audit readiness Monitor vendor performance and escalate issues when service commitments are not being met Contribute to process improvement and automation efforts to reduce manual work and operational risk Participate in testing related to policy, process, and system updates to help ensure smooth payroll execution Support SOX and regional audit activities to help maintain regulatory compliance Assist with cross-training, team development, and special projects as needed Contribute to U.S. payroll operations and implementation projects when needed Skills At least 5 years of payroll analyst experience, including payroll processing in Mexico and exposure to U.S. payroll operations Strong knowledge of payroll practices, local tax requirements, and compliance considerations in Mexico Experience working with payroll vendors in a multi-stakeholder environment Ability to communicate clearly in both English and Spanish, verbally and in writing Solid understanding of general ledger processes Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently and manage detailed tasks accurately Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills Proficiency with Excel and Word Comfort working in a cross-functional global environment High level of professionalism and a collaborative, team-oriented approach Preferred Skills Bachelor's degree Experience supporting stock-based compensation payroll processes Familiarity with case management tools Experience in regional, multilingual operations Exposure to payroll transformation or process optimization initiatives Experience supporting audit or SOX-related activities Horizontal is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where diverse perspectives are valued, and everyone has the opportunity to contribute and grow.
