Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll and Bookkeeping Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll processing, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant labor and tax laws. Your expertise will support our organization's financial health by overseeing payroll systems, handling confidential information with integrity, and ensuring precise bookkeeping practices. Responsibilities Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments for all employees. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Enter data accurately into payroll systems, spreadsheets, and accounting software (QuickBooks) while safeguarding sensitive information. Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws by staying updated on payroll tax regulations and labor law requirements. Prepare journal entries for payroll transactions, including debits & credits, and perform account reconciliation to verify financial accuracy. Handle payroll tax filings, employment tax reports, and related documentation in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Support audits by providing detailed reports on payroll activities and financial transactions. Qualifications Proven experience in payroll management, accounting or finance roles with familiarity in QuickBooks. Strong knowledge of employment & labor law, tax law, and governmental accounting standards. Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks); experience with spreadsheets (Excel) is essential. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly with high attention to detail. Skilled in data entry, account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger accounting practices. $53,000.00 per year
